"Global Alphabet Adventure"

Objective: Help students learn geography and practice the alphabet.

Setup:

• Students sit around the rug
• Teacher has a soft ball or beanbag

Game play:

1. Teacher calls out a letter and tosses the ball to a student.
2. The student must: a) Name a place (country, city, landmark, ocean, etc.) on the map starting with that letter b) Locate it on the rug's map c) Say the next letter in the alphabet
3. The student then tosses the ball to another classmate, who repeats the process with their new letter.
4. If a student can't think of a place or locate it, they can ask classmates for help. If still stumped, they sit out until the next round.
5. Continue until you've gone through the alphabet or a set time limit.

Variations:

• For younger students, use only continents and oceans
• For older students, add bonus points for lesser-known locations
