Objective: Reinforce knowledge of planets and their order from the Sun while promoting physical activity and listening skills.

Materials:

List of planet facts or trivia questions
Small objects to represent each planet (optional)

Instructions:

Have children gather around the rug.
Assign each child a planet or space object from the rug.
Call out facts about the planets or ask trivia questions. For example:
- "I'm the hottest planet in the solar system."
- "I'm known as the Red Planet."
- "I'm the largest planet in our solar system."
When a fact about their assigned planet is called, the child must hop to that spot on the rug.
For added challenge, have children arrange themselves in order from the Sun outward as they learn about each planet's position.
