Each color appears in two columns of four, so the rug splits a class of 24 into three even teams of eight. Use the teams for review games, relays, and center rotations, and let each team choose a name to go with its color.
Read the red, green, blue pattern across a row and predict what comes next. Skip count by threes along the pattern, count only the blue circles, or figure out how many circles of each color are on the whole rug.
Red, green, and blue are the three colors screens use to make every other color. Show a magnified photo of a TV or tablet screen, then ask children to find the same three colors on the rug and guess which two mix to make yellow light.
