Why Schools Choose SensoryEdge

Twenty-plus years of supplying classroom rugs exclusively to schools, districts, and institutions. We're not a generalist retailer - every product on this site is selected for the realities of a 15–30-student classroom: durability, fire code compliance, indoor air quality, and the certifications your facilities and safety reviewers ask for by name.

Compliance & Safety

Every rug we sell meets the certifications required by school facilities and safety reviewers:

NFPA 253 Class I Fire Code The flame-spread standard required by most U.S. public school districts.
CRI Green Label Plus Third-party verified low-VOC emissions for indoor air quality. Required for LEED-certified buildings and increasingly by district facilities standards.
CPSIA Compliant Safe for children's environments. Lead-free and phthalate-free.
Need certification documentation for your audit or RFP response?
Contact us and we'll send the relevant test reports for any product, usually same-day.

How Procurement Works at SensoryEdge

A 5-step process designed around how schools actually buy.

1

Request a quote

Tell us how many classrooms, which rugs, or what you're trying to accomplish. We'll respond within one business day with itemized pricing, freight, lead time, and any documentation you need for internal approval.

2

We package what you need for approval

Your quote, our W-9, certification documentation (NFPA 253 / CRI Green Label / etc.), product spec sheets, and — when applicable — sole-source justification language. Everything your purchasing department needs in one email.

3

Submit your PO

Email it to help@sensoryedge.com. We'll acknowledge receipt within one business day and confirm production schedule.

4

Production and shipping

Quick-ship rugs leave our warehouse within two business days. Made-to-order rugs typically ship in 2–3 weeks. During the back-to-school season, expect longer production times as the manufacturers get inundated with orders.

5

NET-30 to NET-45 payment terms

Standard for public, private, charter, and parochial schools and districts with verified institutional accounts. We invoice once your PO is delivered.

Durability & the Cost-Per-Year Math

Procurement managers justify higher upfront costs to finance officers. We make their job easier.

A consumer-grade rug built for homes typically lasts 1–2 years under daily use by 15–30 children. Our commercial-grade rugs are built to last 5–10 years under the same conditions.

Real cost over 5 years

Consumer rug Commercial classroom rug
Initial cost $150–$200 $365
Replacements over 5 years 2–3 0
Total 5-year cost $450–$800 $365
Net advantage per classroom Up to $435 saved - plus 5 years of zero classroom disruption

Frequently Asked Questions

Are your rugs approved for school use?

Yes. Every rug we sell meets NFPA 253 Class I fire code requirements and carries CRI Green Label Plus certification for indoor air quality. We provide test documentation on request.

Do you offer tax-exempt purchasing?

Yes. Send your tax exemption certificate to help@sensoryedge.com before or with your PO and we'll process the order without sales tax.

What's your return policy for schools?

See our full return policy at sensoryedge.com/pages/returns.

Can you ship to multiple campuses on one PO?

Yes. Specify per-line ship-to addresses on your PO and we'll route each line to the correct campus.

Do your rugs meet Title I funding requirements?

Yes.

What if a rug arrives damaged?

Contact us with photos and we'll have a replacement shipped.

Do you offer custom sizes?

Sorry, no.

What's the lead time for in-stock vs. made-to-order rugs?

Quick-ship rugs leave our warehouse within two business days. Made-to-order rugs typically ship in 2–3 weeks. During the back-to-school season, expect longer production times as the manufacturers get inundated with orders.

Do you have a sales rep for my state or region?

No. We handle every account directly through our online channels - faster response times and one named contact for the life of your order.

Do you accept GSA Schedule purchases?

Not yet - this is something we're actively working on. In the meantime, we accept POs from federal-funded school programs (Title I, Title IV, Head Start, etc.) and our W-9 is available on request.
