In the heart of the whispering woods lived a cheerful creature named Piney. Piney wasn’t your ordinary forest animal, his soft, squishy body looked like it was made of colorful blocks! His tail curled like a question mark, and his belly was the color of warm peach pie.

Every morning, Piney woke up when the sun peeked through the tall pine trees. He’d stretch, smile, and greet the forest with a big, happy,
“Good mooorrrrning, trees! Good mooorrrrning, bees!”

Piney loved to help his forest friends. When Squeaky the squirrel couldn’t remember where he buried his snacks, Piney would help sniff them out. When Rosie the raccoon needed a nap, Piney’s soft belly made the perfect pillow.

But one day, something strange happened. The wind whispered, "Help... help..." and Piney’s ears perked up.

He followed the sound past the mushroom hill, over the giggle creek, and down to a patch of ferns.

There, caught in a tangle of vines, was a little bird with bright blue feathers.
“I was flying home when the wind blew me down,” chirped the bird. “Now I’m stuck!”

Piney gently tugged and untangled the vines with his stubby but strong hands.
“There you go, little one! You’re free now,” Piney smiled.

The bird flapped her wings and twirled in the air.
“You’re a hero, Piney! What’s your name again?”

“I’m Piney the Forest Friend,” he said proudly.

From that day on, Piney became known as the helper of the woods. Anytime someone was lost, tired, or tangled, they’d call out his name, and Piney would come bouncing through the trees, always ready with a smile.

And every night, just before the stars came out, Piney would sit on his favorite rock, wiggle his tail, and whisper,
