Objective: Students will work on color and shape recognition while practicing their coordination and movement skills.

Materials Needed:

• Colored shape cutouts (e.g., circles, squares, triangles, etc.) in various colors (red, yellow, blue, green, etc.)
• A set of matching colored shape cards or pictures
• Small bean bags or markers (optional)

Setup:

1. Place a different colored shape cutout in each square of the grid on the rug.
2. Shuffle the colored shape cards and place them face down in a stack.

How to Play:

1. The teacher picks the first card from the stack and shows it to the class (e.g., a red circle).
2. Students are asked to find the matching colored shape on the rug.
3. The first student to find the correct shape on the rug gets to stand on that square.
4. For an additional challenge, the student can be asked to toss a bean bag onto the correct square before stepping on it.
