The rainbow criss-cross rug is already a color-rich physical grid. Rainbow Connections turns that grid into a prompt-driven game where every round can review a different subject, challenge a different skill, or target a different age group. Prepare a set of prompt cards before class, and the rug does the rest: it provides the physical space, the color categories, and the movement that makes every round feel different from the last.

The game scales from simple color-identification exercises for Kindergarteners to multi-step cross-subject challenges for Grade 5. One rug. One game. Six years of replayability.

Basic Rules

Students form groups of 2 to 4 players. One student from each group starts on a colored circle. The teacher draws a prompt card and reads it aloud. Students move to the appropriate circles following the prompt. The first student or group to correctly complete the prompt wins a point.

How to Play

Three Play Formats

🧍
Format 1
Solo Play

One student at a time completes prompts within a set time limit. Best for individual assessment or practice rotations.

👥
Format 2
Team Challenge

Divide the class into two teams. Teams alternate sending a player to complete prompts. First to a target score wins.

🏁
Format 3
Relay Race

Groups line up and send one player at a time to complete a prompt series before tagging the next player. Speed and accuracy combined.
