Start the school day off with a hoot on the Owl-phabet Tree Rug. Students will find their own special place on this adorable woodland themed rug. Great for seating or developing gross motor skills where children can hop around letter to letter.

Here are some Alphabet Games to play on a rug:

• Alphabet Charades: Assign each student a letter from the rug. The student must act out or mime objects, animals, or actions that start with their assigned letter while their classmates try to guess the letter and word. For example, if a student has the letter "D," they might act out a duck or demonstrate dancing. This game encourages creativity, vocabulary building, and letter association.
• Alphabet Relay Race: Divide the class into teams. Place a set of alphabet flashcards at one end of the rug for each team. On the other end of the rug, have a basket or container for each team. When you say, "Go," the first student from each team races to the flashcards, picks one up, and runs back to their team s container to drop it in. The next student in line repeats the process. The team that fills their container with flashcards first wins. This game promotes letter recognition and teamwork.
• Alphabet Obstacle Course: Design an alphabet-themed obstacle course on the rug using different objects or stations. Each station represents a letter of the alphabet. For example, students might hop on a hopscotch grid for the letter "H" or crawl under a limbo stick for the letter "L." As they navigate through the course, they need to identify and say the name of each letter they encounter.
